Description

Khubani, Chullu or Apricot, is an important fruit crop growing wild in the hills of Shimla and Kinnaur districts of Himachal. It is consumed fresh, dried or canned. Its kernels are used for oil extraction, extremely beneficial for bone health, aches and pains.

Fun Facts: The cultivated apricot has its origin in North – Eastern China, whereas the wild apricot is indigenous to India.

Apricot is rich in Vitamin A and contains more proteins, phosphorous and niacin than any other common fruits.
